What will you learn?

This programme develops professional media personnel, journalists in particular, who are at the forefront of professional and technical developemnts in their area of specialisation. Students develop a stong foundation in communication, research and analytical skills. Knowledge and in-depth understanding of mass communication theory is also emphasised. Through the programme, students acquire a mature understanding of cultural issues and public policies within the Malaysian environment and global context. 

Students are also introduced to the fundamentals of advertising such as copywriting and media planning. Students are exposed to practical training in the industry. This is achieved by placing students under a industrial training programme during their second year of study. 

 

Eligibility:

STPM with 2 Principal Passes

OR

A-Level with 2 Passes

OR

South Australian Matriculation (SAM) with an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) 70 and Grade B in 2 subjects

OR

Canadian Pre-University (CPU) with an average of 70% in 6 subjects

OR

Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with Grade B in 5 subjects including English language

OR

Foundation in Arts, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR)

OR

Foundation in Science, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR)

OR

Foundation / Matriculation from other Institutions of Higher Learning

OR

Diploma / Advanced Diploma from other Institutions of Higher Learning

OR

Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government

AND

A credit in SPM / O-Level English Language / equivalent (not applicable for qualifications conducted fully in English language)
