What will you learn?

The programme is designed to upgrade the analytical skills of managerial and technical personnel for their career advancement and to enhance their competence in application of statistics. The focus is on highly sought after data analysis skills demanded by the industries. The programme aims to provide training in the arts and science of collecting, organizing, presenting, analyzing and interpreting numerical data, and the ability to use the results for decision making and problem solving in a range of fields including banking, business, economics, health, population studies and social sciences. The programme is practical-oriented and emphasis is given to the use of software in developing statistical skills.

 

Eligibility:

• National Higher School Certificate (or an Advanced Level equivalent) with the grade 80% and above

Or

• A Diploma from recognized Institutions with at least a CGPA of 3.00.

• Applicant may be required to undergo an interview session for certain selection program before being accepted by the respective faculty.

 Students are required to enrol in the Malay Language Program prior to being conferred a degree.

A Bachelor’s Degree (Hons.) or its equivalent in the related field*

*Note
Preference will be given to applicants having a Bachelor’s Degree with CGPA 3.0 and above or its equivalent.
Applicants having a Bachelor’s Degree with CGPA 3.7 and above can apply directly for the Doctoral programme

 

ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

Students must obtain:

• TOEFL score of 500 (PBT), 173 (CBT) or 60 (IBT) and above

Or

• IELTS Band 5.0 - 6.5 and above

Or

• Pass in any equivalent English proficiency test approved and recognized by the University of Malaya.
