What will you learn?

The Diploma in Agribusiness is offered as an approach to produce a semi-professional workforce equipped to manage, handle, and utilize the nation‘s agricultural resources. Strong emphasis is given in producing graduates who are capable in managing an organization and overcoming business challenges in the field of agriculture, specifically ones related to the agro-food supply chain. The Diploma in Agribusiness focuses on agriculture management, marketing, finance and entrepreneurship. Apart from building a successful career in agri-entrepreneurship, every graduate has a bright career prospect in the public and private sectors. The Diploma in Agribusiness is a full-time programme, covering a 6-semester course with a total of 104 credit hours (including 2 credits for a co-curriculum activity).

 

Eligibility:

SPM category

A minimum of Grade C in five (5) of the following subjects at SPM level:

  • Mathematics
  • Biology or Science, and
  • two (2) other subjects of the following:-
  • Physics;
  • Chemistry;
  • Additional Mathematics;
  • Additional Science;

  • and

    A minimum of Grade E for English at the SPM level. 
    or
    Certificate category 

    Possessed a certificate in related field from an institution recognized by the UPM Senate. (Category C)
    and

    A minimum of Grade E for English at the SPM level.

Graduates of this program are skilled in business and knowledgeable in agriculture as complementary to entry into various job opportunities, whether in government agencies, statutory bodies as well as the private sector including finance and banking. In addition, graduates can also become entrepreneurs in agriculture.
