What will you learn?

The DVM programme is designed to produce graduates in veterinary science competent in animal disease diagnosis, treatment, control, investigation, and production. Graduates of the Faculty are skilled with day-one competencies to serve the veterinary and livestock industries.

These veterinarians have the required knowledge to practice in veterinary clinics and hospitals.

 

Eligibility:

  • Pass O-Level or equivalent.
  • Pass O-Level or equivalent.
  • Pass A-Level with at least Grade B in 3 science subjects.
  • Pass A-Level with at least Grade B in 3 science subjects.
  • Pass TOEFL (score 550) or IELTS (score C6).
  • Pass TOEFL (score 550) or IELTS (score C6).

Career prospects:

Career Prospect The Doctor of Veterinary Medicine training prepares graduates for a wide range of employment opportunities. Our veterinary graduates had successfully gained in employment in many government and statutory institutions, veterinary clinics, marketing and technical consultancy, research, academia and animal production, to name a few. Currently, there is high demand for veterinarians by the private sectors, such as the small animal and livestock industries. Many graduates opted to be self reliant by establishing their own clinics or businesses in preventive medicine and personal consultancy for livestock farms. Some graduates yearn for greater knowledge and pursue post-graduate studies culminating in a masters or PhD degree. These graduates often secure employment by universities and research institutions.

 

Scholarships for Post-graduate studies:

Fellowships, scholarships, assistantships are usually available for postgraduate students wishing to study in Malaysia, depending either on availability within the institution and your academic qualifications. Additionally, a number of scholarships are available from other institutions and organisations, such as the Malaysian government.
