What will you learn?

The 3-year Diploma in Environmental Health programme provides students with comprehensive training in areas of environmental health, namely air, food and water quality, soil pollution, waste management, noise pollution, pest control, housing and the use of hazardous substances while also developing students’ knowledge and ability to respond to current and emerging issues.

The programme also places a strong emphasis on communication and educational skills, the principles of human behavior, and the ability to resolve problems, with the aim of encouraging students to promote an understanding of environmental health and the role of their profession within the community and to be committed to ongoing lifelong learning.

 

Eligibility:

SPM

5 credits including Bahasa Malaysia, English, Mathematics and at least one Science subject (Biology, Physics, Chemistry, General Science, Applied Science) and any other one subject

O-Level

At least Grade C in English, Mathematics and at least one Science subject (Biology/Physics/Chemistry/General Science/Applied Science) and any other two subjects

Either one (1) of the credits below:  • Science/ Biology/ Chemistry/ Physics and Applied Science AND Credits in three (3) other subjects AND • A  pass  in  International  Language  Testing  System  (IELTS)  with  an  Overall Band  • Score of minimum 5.5.  OR • Test of English as  a  Foreign  Language  (TOEFEL)  • TOEFEL  Paper  Based  Test  (TOEFEL  PBT)  a  minimum  score  of  515.  • TOEFEL  Computer  Based  Test  (TOEFEL  CBT)  a  minimum  score  of  215.  • TOEFEL  Internet  Based  Test  (TOEFEL  iBT)  a  minimum  score  of  80.  • Cambridge Advanced English (CAE) • Cambridge Proficiency English (CPE) • Pearson Test of English (PTE)

Career prospects:

Graduates from Diploma in Environmental Health are qualified to work as an Assistant Environmental Health Officer (EHO) at the Ministry of Health or local authorities, as Safety and Health Officer, or as an Environmental Health Researcher.

 

Scholarships for Post-graduate studies:

MERIT scholarship (not applicable for Health Sciences programmes) for Performing International students - those who achieve GPA3.75 in the semester will get the waiver of the entire semester tuition fee.
