The programme aims to equip candidates with in-depth knowledge of theories and practices relevant to the field of English language studies. In this programme, candidates are exposed to the latest developments in applied linguistics, English for specific purposes, language and media communication, and language in literary studies. The programme aims to train professionals from the public and private sectors, especially lecturers from public and private institutions of higher learning, to be specialists in the English language.
- Candidates should have a Master’s degree in English language studies, English literature or related fields from recognized universities.
- Candidates who have a Master’s degree by coursework and research must have obtained a CGPA of 3.2.
- Candidates who hold a Master’s degree by coursework only must have obtained a CGPA of 3.5.
