The Bachelor of Computer Science specializing in Software Engineering is offered by the Department of Software Engineering. The programme focuses on the practical and theoretical dimensions of computer science, and prepares students for careers in the fields of computing and software development. This programme is designed to produce graduates who are in-demand by the industry due to their ability to produce quality software through the use of excellent principles and technique's of analysis, design, development and testing. This makes software engineering graduates are highly paid and sought after on the labour market.

The Bachelor of Computer Science (Software Engineering) (Hons.) programme is value-added with the latest industry requirements where by syllabus of Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering (CPRE-FL) by International Requirements Engineering Board (IREB) and Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) by International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) are embedded within two courses; Requirements Engineering and Software Testing.
In addition to this, the programme is also designed to enable graduates to pursue higher qualifications in software engineering such as professional certifications as well as Master of Software Engineering or Master of Computer Science degree and Doctor of Philosophy degree from UNITEN as well as from other reputable institutions of higher learning.
Minimum Entry Requirement
SIJIL TINGGI PERSEKOLAHAN MALAYSIA ( STPM)
- Pass STPM with minimum Grade C in 2 subjects and Credit in Maths and Additional Maths in SPM Level; or
MATRICULATION PROGRAMME
- Pass Ministry of Education (MOE) Matriculation programme with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and credit in Mathematics and Add Math at SPM level; or
FOUNDATION PROGRAMME
- Pass Foundation Programme in related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and credit in Mathematics at SPM level; or
A-LEVEL
- Pass A-Level with a minimum of Grade C in 2 subjects and credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent; or
DIPLOMA
- Pass Diploma programme in related field with minimum CGPA of 2.50 and credit in Mathematics and Additional Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent; or
UEC
- Pass Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with grade B for five (5) subjects including Mathematics; or
INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE DIPLOMA (IB)
- Pass IB and Pass Mathematic subject; or
SAME/WACE/AUSMAT
- Pass Australia Capital Territory (Year 12)/SACE/Victorian Certificate of Education(VCE)/Western Australian Certificate of Education(WACE)/South Australian Matriculation(SAM)/Tertiary Entrance Education(TEE)/O-Level/Australian Matriculation (AUSMAT) and credit in Mathematics at SPM level; or
OTHERS
- Other equivalent qualification recognized by Government of Malaysia.
English Requirement:
- Have taken MUET with minimum Band 2*; or
- Pass IELTS with Band 5.0 and above; or
- Pass TOEFL with score 500 and above

UNITEN GLOBAL SCHOLARSHIP
UNITEN Global Scholarship 2019 is for selected International Students who choose to study in UNITEN. The scholarship offers USD1,000 off from the tuition fee.
