What will you learn?

The Limkokwing Foundation programme is specifically designed for students who wish to enter University immediately after high school. It is a one-year bridging programme covering a range of subjects that form the core competencies required to pursue a degree qualification in the Information Technology industry. Every student of the Foundation programme will enter a stream related to their studies as they proceed to their degree programme. They won’t have to study subjects unrelated to their planned career line. Key focus for all Foundation programmes is to develop ICT and creative skills.

 

Eligibility:

  • Passed SPM/O-Level with 5 credits in any subjectsOR
  • Any other equivalent qualifications that is recognized by the Government of Malaysia

Eligibility for Foundation – International students

Must have passed O Level/ A Level equivalent studies

Academic Requirement for admission in University Malaysia 

Diploma & Bachelor Programs
  • Candidates in High school, secondary or A-level must hold min. CGPA of 2 out of 4 or must be passed.
  • For studying engineering pass marks in Math, Chemistry and physics in high school.

Master Programs 
  • Bachelor's degree with min. CGPA of 2.75 out of 4 or equivalent in a relevant field of study.
  • Any Bachelor's degree with CGPA of 2 to 2.5 out of 4 in a relevant field can be accepted subject to a minimum 2 years of working experience in a related field.

PhD programs
  • A Master's degree with min. CGPA of 2.75 out of 4 or equivalent in a relevant field of study.
  • Any Master's degree with minimum CGPA of 2 to 2.5 out of 4 in a relevant field can be accepted subject to a minimum 2 years of working experience in a related field.

 

 

English language requirement for admission in University Malaysia: It is mandatory for every international student to take English tests like TOFEL (Test of English as a Foreign Language or IELTS (International English language Testing System) with the minimum required score for respective programs.

This programme aims to instill: • The in depth IT knowledge • The skills and techniques • Creative thinking and problem solving techniques • Hardware and software command

 

Career prospects:

Students will learn to use computer hardware and software. They will master computer technology related to business applications for activities such as presentations and report writing as well as an understanding of technical software for website design, graphic design, photo editing, publishing, multimedia, etc.The Foundation programme relies on intensive English training that is applied through communication modules of the programme. Native English speakers can spend more time on professional writing, reporting, creative writing, etc. Students who have completed a recognized STPM / Year12 / A Levels, or equivalent higher certificate, or diploma programme with the required subjects and credits, may be exempted from the Foundation programme upon review of their past results or portfolio (where applicable).
