What will you learn?

The Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Applied Chemistry Program is aligned with UTP's Mission Statements to produce skilled knowledge workers, addressing the nation's call for more scientists and technologists especially in the areas of Petrochemistry, Sustainable Chemistry and Nanotechnology. This program is developed to nurture students into competent graduates with the knowledge, understanding, skills and values required in our move towards a high income society.

This exclusive program adopts the multi-mode educational delivery system which emphasis on student-centered learning, practical-based approach and experiential learning, as individuals or in teams, intended to release UTP's seven (7) attributes for a well-rounded graduate model. The program stresses the need for a firm foundation in Fundamental Chemistry, followed by advanced courses such as Separation Process, Petrochemical Processes, Hydrocarbon Chemistry, Computational Chemistry, Analytical Instrumentation, Quantum Chemistry and Molecular Spectroscopy. Students learning experience are also enhanced with the incorporation of the multidisciplinary Science Team Project and also the compulsory 7-month structured Student Industrial Internship Program.

Pass with minimum grade C or 60% in Mathematics and any other two (2) non-language subjects.

AND additional requirement for international students:-

English Requirement :

i.             A minimum IELTS score of 5.0 OR

ii.            A minimum TOEFL PBT score 500 OR

iii.           A minimum TOEFL IBT score of 59 OR

iv.           A minimum TOEFL CBT score of 173

Scholarships for Post-graduate studies:

The university will assist students in applying for financial aids, sponsorships and educational loans for their studies from various sources, including PTPTN, MARA, JPA, state foundations, and corporate companies.
